I officially started my prep 9.1.18, and the goal was to start getting my body used to the Inzer gear, load and pressure that will be coming over the next ten weeks.

This first 10/20/Life precontest 3 week mini-cycle (2 weeks up, 1 week deload) consisted of the following: Straight bar squats with full gear, Bench press with SDP off boards, and deads from the floor in the fusion.

  • Inzer LUP Size 2xl, Preds Size 38 and 4×4 Knee wraps
  • SDP Black Size 56 and 56/54 with 4×4 Wrist wraps
  • Fusion DL with Velcro & Grid, size 38
  • Red/White/Blue Inzer Forever Belt

The first part (3 weeks) of my training cycle went well. Saturday was a good day for my confidence and all weights felt very manageable.

9.22.18 Saturday Week 4, day 1 Squat/DL

Warm-up:

  • McGill Big 3
  • Side laterals
  • Scapula walks
  • Internal/external rotation
  • Rear delt flye

Training:

  1.  Squat: 725 in preds and 4×4 wraps, added LUP: 825 full gear, 925 – 80%, 985 RB – 85%
  2.  Deadlift: 585, 655 – 2 singles – 80%.
  3.  Suitcase carry/ stir the pot
  4.  Walking cooldown
The new carpet and shoes (Vans) did the trick as I’d hoped. My unracks and stability have not felt this good in years. I’m glad I figured out what it was as it was bothering me. My unracks were so good that the bar was whipping on my back, which is something I need to address. I got a little forward out of the hole with the 985 but not too bad. Again, getting used to my groove and this weight once again. I should keep pulling myself down in the hole with this lighter weight no matter what my body and head are telling me.
(I do not have video as it was all erased when I updating my Go-pro.)
Deads felt good as well. I got done with my squats within 1:45 so I was a little winded before pulls, but they were grooved pretty well and left the deck fast. I need to keep working on my wedge, but it’s coming along. Always something to make a little bit better.
I’m very much looking forward to taking some bigger weight this weekend. Very happy with how my squat is feeling.
Lots of work to do yet, but time is flying! This prep will be done and over before two shakes of a lamb’s tail.
