I just finished a 10-week ‘peak’ training cycle where I accomplished my goals of getting back to competition strength and shape and will be entering into a long offseason for the upcoming WPO in Nov of this year. Like many other TeamPRS athletes, our very own Tucker Loken is handling my diet.

- Warm-up: General 10/20/Life warm-up, as usual, each day includes but not limited to: Breaking a sweat, McGill big 3 and always band pull-aparts and shoulder band/DB work.
- Training:
- Â Side laterals: 4×10
- Rear delt flye w/squeeze: 4×10
- More band pull-aparts (did them in warm-up too)
- 2-arm DB row w/squeeze: 4×10
- Flat DB press: 8×10 – felt good, no pain or tightness with 75’s
- Incline DB press: 4×10
- DB skull variations: 4×10
- Rope press-downs: 4×10
- Bench push-ups
- Bottoms up KB bench press: 4×10 w/60lbs
Shoulder feels solid and no issues with the pressing. I’m going to stay on the path for another week or so with KB/DB’s, but I will be back to pressing with the bar very soon. After talking with a few key people, I’m going to work with some bamboo-bar/bandbell bar like methods for a bit to continue stabilizing my shoulder and building strength without too much load right away.
21 weeks is a long time, but it will go by fast. Looking forward to seeing how things shake out.
