Monday, I got back in the bench shirt and had a pretty good day. Not great, but pretty good.

Wednesday, I got in a typical Squat and Deadlift assistance day. This went well:

Wednesday – Squat/DL assistance
Normal Warm-up
Rope pull-down: 3×10
Barbell Rack Row: 5×5
Barbell DOH shrug: 3×10
One leg KB GM: 3×6
Piston squat: 5×5
Leg press: 4×6
Stir the pot: 50

Thursday – Full & Buff
Normal Warm-up
Incline DB Press: 3×10
Flat DB press: 3×10
DB fly: 3×10
(light)CG bench: 5×5
Fat Gripz Skull: 3×10
One arm press-down: 3×15

I’m back to training, getting caught up and cranking away. Lots going on right now, but I’m finding a way to get as much done as possible. I’m very happy with a couple of things in the works. This training session was a good one and I always feel good when I get some leg work in 2x per week.

I’m back to training in precontest – mode 4 weeks out, working on some awesome projects and limiting my yes’s and expanding my no’s.

Why training in precontest, still? Why pushing 4 meets this year? Don’t you suggest only doing 2-3 a year? Great question! I do suggest only doing 2-3 meets per year but I’m also not going to drag out my lifting time forever. I have a few more MP PL goals I want to get, then it’s time to back off for a while and chase some other lifting related goals. And honestly, I don’t feel like taking a break right now – nothing hurts, nothing is injured. In most cases, a break after a long year would be good. For me, a break wouldn’t be good. I can take a break next year and catch up on rest.
