Brian Carroll |Offseason Training| Week 3 and an update

vega pink

I just finished 3 meets in 3 months and I’m now taking downtime to recover, rest and work on weak points. I did hit PR Total, 2651, PR squat 1102 and a PR bench 788 all at 242.

Huge thanks to Captain Jacked.com and Inzer Advance Designs for supporting my lifting!

Alright, lifting was not great last week BUT I have my diet dialed in about 80% perfect. I also have been walking 1mile plus 6 days a week which makes me feel great.

I missed Friday and Saturday walking and training due to travel so I’m going to squat/bench/pull tonight (monday). Basically versions of the big 3 but not comp style. Prob pause cambered bar, DB presses and one leg DL’s tonight and will continue this for a couple of weeks.

I’ve taken all junk food out and dropped 10.5lb from last Monday to this Monday. I feel so MUCH BETTER. The goal is to take off another 3-4lb this week and next as it’s all excess water from the nasty bloated I created last month with all the competing.

I’m basically eating 3 squares a day, a couple of bars, some Magnum Quattro Chocolate PB flavor, and snacking on Pnut butter, cashews and cheese. Boring but works.

As long as I stay on 85% locked in, I’ll be where I need to be. I want to stay lighter as I feel so much better. Around 250 would be ideal for me and will make a cut to 242 a LOT easier right? But it will not make my life any easier, I can say that. But as long as I stay on target, and don’t stray, I’ll be good. Last week at 265 on Wed, my BP was 120/70 which is great, so I’m super happy about this.

I’m going to be working on the following this summer:
Grip
Hip mobility
Bench set-up
Squat descent speed

This will be my focus and as you can see, it’s pretty much something with each comp lift. Nothing too crazy and no rehab needed thank God.

I’ll update about tonight, tomorrow.
