Huge thanks to Captain Jacked.com and Inzer Advance Designs for supporting my lifting!

I’m a little bit behind on updating and this has NOT been the most convenient training cycle that I’ve ever been a part of. And for a few reasons –

1. Short cycle (8 weeks with 2 prep weeks prior to the start) – more on this in a second *
2. Weather has not been good to us here where the weights were supposed to be the heaviest
3. This is the 4th meet of the year and we are only in Oct.

*I have tried a couple of new things this time around that I learned earlier in the year. With my lifting age, I decided to hold back a little bit in the gym. Meaning, I only went over 90% a couple of times in the gym this time around but would do multiple sets instead of the usual (closer to 95 and more at times).

* I wanted a shorter training cycle this time around for 2 reasons – 1. more offseason work and 2. to see if a little less intensity and duration would work out well for me since I’ve been running so hard this year. Either way, I feel pretty ready. So if I really suck, then I know where I went wrong and will take some heavier weights in the gym next go around.

Anyway, I think it’s been a pretty successful cycle for the most part.

The most I’ve handled is 1100 on the squat – once, 820 on the bench and 765 on the dead from the blocks. Let’s see how it pans out.

We went down to Miami for the weekend as Bert and Mindy Underwood had Byrd, Lisa, Liz, Ria and myself down for some training and catching up. Huge thanks to both of you guys! We had a great time.

I took my last squat and dead and it went pretty well.

Squat
735 with Preds and Mystery black wraps
835 with LUP, Pred and mystery wraps
955 – same

Dead
315 – with Fusion + velcro
405 – few singles
500 – few singles
600 – last warm-up

No assistance except for some McGill big 3..

I feel this day went pretty good. Best the squat and deads have felt in a long time so I feel either I peaked early or I’m dead-on for 2 weeks. hahaha. I know I’m chasing something that won’t come easy but I will get it done sooner than later.

I have one more bench session (Monday night – opener, then DONE) then I’ll be tapering my assistance down and pretty much only focusing on recovery and nutrition.

Thanks for all the support and backing.
