Brian Carroll Update #5 – Making Progress

[wa-wps]

I recently competed in the XPC Finals this March where I won but didn’t have a huge day by any means. Right now I’m laying low and have no plans to compete at this time.

Big thanks to CaptainJacked.com and Inzernet.com for supporting TeamPRS and PowerRackStrength.com!

Quite a few new items coming to PRS in the coming weeks including hats – stay tuned!

First off – congrats to Rachel and Tucker for great showings this weekend!!

Update – Still no training of any sort but it’s 100% by choice as it’s just not my priority. I pushed so hard from Dec 2015 to March 4 2017 that it was time for an extended break.

As I mentioned in posts since the Arnold, I haven’t really taken a break of any sort, even remotely close to this caliber in 14 years. It was time to do so.

What I’m finding is it’s very, very hard to separate my business, my passion, my hobby (lifting) and my personal life in generally, especially as I work from Home most of the time. Many, including some of my family doesn’t quite understand all that I have to do and have to oversee every day, plus my other projects. My point is not to cry about it but say it’s a hard balancing act and I have NOT been properly unbalanced. Yes, I’ve been unbalanced to the extreme. I can deal with unbalanced but not being totally lopsided. This will take some work and getting back to training will help this.

Over the last few years, since being back healthy and wanting to seize every moment I had – subsequently, I let a great deal of my life intertwine and it really made things difficult and in turn, hard to interpret at times the differences. I had different friends living with me multiple times, people always coming and going from the house and really not having separation boundaries with any of it.

To be honest, a lot of this clarity has come from writing/finishing up this book with Dr. McGill and reliving a lot of my past and the struggles I went through to get better.

This is all better suited for an article which I will do soon.

Anyway, I have been walking every single day of the week and have been doing my McGill big 3 and such. I will soon start doing some carries and some bodyweight stuff, then get back to an offseason phase of training but no until I get this book finished, which is priority #1.

Many articles to write! Lots to do, but I’ll be training again soon!
