Brian Carroll | Week 2, Day 1 | Squat + DL Day

[wa-wps]

Getting back into the swing of things with a meet picked out for December. Huge thanks to Captain Jacked and Inzer for their backing and support!

A couple of videos from this Saturday’s productive session:

Saturday, I squatted and pulled. It was the hardest day on paper for this cycle and it didn’t disappoint.

My goal was around an opener on squat, maybe a band set, then block pulls for a PR then pulling an opener off the floor. And then leg press and stir the pot.

Normal warm-up

Squat:
Predators on – 620
Predators plus double grippers – 720
Added LUP – 855
Same – 925 – last warm-up
Tightened everything down – 1005
Skipped band set, rhomboid was on fire.

4″ block pull: top set 775 no belt – PR
Deads from floor: top set 705 – full gear
Leg Press: 4×10
Stir the pot: 100

Good session. Aside skipping the band set, I was right on with my numbers and volume. I’m about to taper back down and finish off this cycle with one more moderate squat and dead and be done with these two lifts. This weekend the plan is to work up to last warm-ups then be done. Nothing felt heavy and everything moved like it should. Very happy with this day. Form feels on with both lifts with only very minor adjustments to be made.

Now, to see about the bench and dialing that in. That’s another story. But I’ll get that dialed in too.
