Brian Carroll Week 2 Offseason: Squat/DL 6.17.17

New hats/swag coming next week to our new SHOP – it’s very easy to use. Check it out!

Big thanks to CaptainJacked.com and Inzernet.com for supporting TeamPRS and PowerRackStrength.com!

I’m following the offseason Combo template straight out of the 10/20/Lifebook for the next 10 weeks. The only modifications I’m making is low reps with the squat and deadlift, but normal higher (4/5) reps with bench. I’ll make up the total volume on my assistance work concerning the squat/DL.

We had APF Seniors this weekend here in Jax, so I opted to squat and pull on Wed.
Normal Warm-up
A. Band fly/Band shoulder dislocation
B. McGill big 3
C. Goblet squat
D. Empty bar x20

Squat – 2 singles of 425 RPE 6
Deadlift – 2×2 – 225 (just knocking rust off)
A. Piston squat: 3×6
B. One Leg GM: 3×12
C. Stir the pot

Good session although the weights felt heavier than they should have especially on the squat but it’s to be expected after a long layoff. I hadn’t pulled since the March 4 Arnold meet and currently.. am feeling the little bit of work I did on Wed. Feels good to be back at it. Sore.

No meets or anything planned, first order of business is get back in shape and be less fat. I plan on working up the next few weeks to build a solid base of strength that I currently do not have.
