It’s been 8 days since I competed at the CPF Nationals and injured my right knee on my opening squat.

I went to the clinic and the Doctor thought I may have torn my anterior quad and not my knee, however I can’t get in for an ultrasound until next Thursday (July 5th).

I have been religiously icing my knee and I’ve been treating it daily with Magnetic Pulse Therapy which is supposed to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to heal tissue, ligaments and bone.  I can walk so I’m hoping it’s not too serious.

My plan moving forward is to find out what the exact mechanism of injury is, properly address the injury and take enough time to ensure it heals properly.  This probably means I won’t really be doing much, if any lower body training over the next few weeks.

The last couple of years haven’t been the greatest.  I just recovered from a back injury with the help of Dr. Stu McGill and now this.  I definitely have a few thoughts creeping into my head weighing the options of whether this is a sign that maybe its time to re-evaluate whether it’s worth trying to continue competing at this level.

It can be frustrating sometimes to say the least.
