12 Jun Ken Whetham: The Crossroads
If you compete in powerlifting you realize that when you’re getting ready for a meet everything needs to progress with your training so when you reach your meet, you peak at the right time. Proper nutrition, training, hydration are among a few items that need to be dialled in to reach your goals.
This training cycle has been less than ideal for me. I caught some type of flu bug which threw a wrench into a few sessions, I ended up with bronchitis and pneumonia and went on a round of antibiotics to get fixed up.
Being sick has made it difficult for me to maintain my bodyweight and I’ve dropped to 274 lbs (down over 25 lbs) despite trying to eat.
I squatted yesterday to attempt some type of opener but everything felt super heavy and slow.
I’m going to see how this week goes, but I feel like I’m at a point in this meet prep where I need to decide whether to pull out of the Nationals.
