I don’t think there is a right answer to your question. If you’re simply testing so that you can continue on into a meet prep, or even more offseason, I say you cut the accessories and just test the lift on the day you have it scheduled. You shouldn’t be hitting a true max, just a small PR, or something in the ballpark. If you do chose to do it like a meet and take the whole week to deload into it, that is fine too. It won’t do any harm, or good.
The off-season test is more a gauge of progress than it is a true test situation, because you’re not in a meet. No need to peak for an off season test.
