Do you ever feel the need to have a carb refeed?
I’ve been on a keto diet since end of March. I’ve had a lot of success with body recomposition, less inflammatory, and overall better energy. However about every three weeks I plateau. I usually have like a 36 hour cheat, then back to the keto with continued good results. Is this a normal part of the process, or should I just stay the course?
Thanks in advance.
I’m going to defer to Danny Vega on this one. He has some good points about the 3 “types of keto diets” in his view, there really is only one ‘true’ way.
In my opinion your is more of a carb cycle than keto… But in the past, I would eat carbs right before training and during, then none for a few days… Stand by
Thank you!
Hey Nate,
I’m curious what you mean by plateau, and why you think carbs would fix them. When you do the cheat, how many carbs are you eating? A day and a half seems like way too long. If this were many people, you’d basically be adapting to keto for 3 weeks, completely destroying that progress and starting over again. It doesn’t seem like the best idea to me, but I’m not sure what your goals are besides lowering inflammation. Have you ever tried going 2-3 months of strict keto to see if you become fat adapted?
