Hello,
It depends. I would advise going through this article for a few tips: SDP
It depends on your level of experience, how much you bench, your levers and injury history, etc. For instance: If you bench 500lbs in a shirt, with super long arms you won’t likely do well with a very tight arm/fit overall. But if you’re barrel-chested and bench 800, you can go for more of a tight fit.
With this said: In many cases, you should NOT be able to get right into your shirt. This shirt molds and stretches to the contours of your body.
It’s possible the 58 is the correct size, but as stated – they stretch a great deal, and you’ll have to be patient. To give my strategy: My best bench is 825, and currently, I wear a 56 chest, with 54 sleeves at 265lbs.
Best of luck!
