Team Samson Powerlifting: Calm Before the Storm

Week of May 14th:

It’s the week before a meet in the gym. Logistics are being worked out amongst the handlers on when people will be heading down to the meet, discussing times and if anyone needs a ride.

We would like to congratulate founding member Adam Driggers on a successful Grand Opening of his massage business “Massage Theory” that’s located in Yulee, FL.

Recap of the week: For Jason it was a light week as he is trying to stay as fresh as possible for the meet next week. He worked up to 320lbs on bench before shutting it down due to his elbow not firing (better to be safe, than sorry). Jason also hit 345lbs for a few singles on squat and 315lbs for a few singles on deads.

Dondell Blue worked up to 425lbs on sumo, as he is trying to work on his form for a potential raw meet. Filipe Gusmao worked up to 425×2 on squat and 435×1 on deads. Shane Ford worked up to 315×3 on bench. Mike Holman worked up to 405×1 on bench.

Quote of the week: “Let’s go! Biggest bench of the night right here” (As 315lbs was on the bar)
