If a raw squatter who wears wraps want to incorporate box squats into their program, should they do them with or without wraps? Sleeves, or naked knee?
I would agree with Dean, but would say no wraps on a box squat, no matter what.
If you’re in the off-season, you shouldn’t be using wraps at all, sleeves only, and if you’re in meet prep you would be using the box squat as a secondary movement, which I would also advocate no wraps for.
You’re box squatting to learn how to load your hamstrings and maintain tension, focus on that and make the lift as difficult as possible (no belt, no wraps) in order to benefit the most.
