Any advice as to what kind of gear I should be looking into? I’m new to geared lifting and I’ve been in a shirt a couple times. (Single and double ply) I’m clueless about squat and deadlift though. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,
Your best bet would be to start in a slightly big SDP bench shirt for starters:http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=SuperDuperPhenom
This will likely be the most difficult of the transitions. Maybe not, it depends.
For briefs, go with Predators in 2ply with grid:http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=Predator
For the suit, go with the Trex or the LUP: http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=Leviathan_Ultra_Pro

If you pull sumo, pull in your Trex or your LUP.. If conventional go with the fusion and add velcro straps: http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=Fusion+DL
For knee and wrist wraps, go gripper: http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=GripperKneeWraps
Best of luck!
I have been lifting in gear off and on for the past year, and as Brian suggested above, a slightly bigger SDP shirt is a good route for anyone new to gear. A tighter shirt makes the “bubble” or groove smaller and is there is a bigger margin of error to mis-groove the bench. You can always adjust by pinching or pulling the sleeves/triceps up or pulling the shirt collar lower as you become more experienced and comfortable in it.
The Inzer LUP is great for the beginner or experienced geared lifter as it is adjustable and can be tightened or loosened depending on your needs.
I love the Inzer Grippers as well. You can get lots of turns in and they give excellent rebound.
