Team Samson weekly update

Filipe Gusmão and Shane Ford are currently 4 weeks out from the RPS South Florida Conquest and Adam Driggers is pushing up his raw bench and squat numbers.

The Team Samson compound has been filled with intensity as most of the team has been in meet prep. Along with Brian’s and Byrd’s meet prep which just concluded last week we also have Filipe, Shane Ford, Shane Shepperd, and Clint Smith prepping for the RPS South Florida conquest. It’s in these times that you find out who is there to ensure the success of the team, and who is there only to self serve.

Our crew has pulled together and created the right atmosphere that gives our team the best chance of success on the platform. Days wont always go as planned but having a competent team there to tell you, without sugarcoating, when you need to push and when you need to hang the boots and deload will make it more likely that you will peak appropriately instead of running your body into the ground.

Training:

Adam Driggers

Adam came into this week looking to push up his raw bench number not only for himself, but also to show some of the raw guys in the gym that even in retirement  from multiply powerlifting he is still able to outlift them raw.

425 Bench (You can hear Adam talking to Jason Kowalewski as he out lifts him for the day.)

“It’s going to be easy Jason.”

He was able to manage the tendinitis this week and hit decent numbers by continuing ART/Graston with his chiropractor, going to massage therapists, icing, and taking ibuprofen to lessen the inflammation.
