I’m starting the off-season program and would like to incorporate Dimel Deadlifts and Box Jumps. Would you consider either or both of those exercises to be Assistance Type A or B?
You can do them at the end like Jason recommended for extra leg stimulus since they’ll be hard as hell after you’re fatigued.
I do them with my warm up a lot like Paul said to get my CNS going and break a little sweat before I even touch the bar.
Just like Brian said – how are they helping you? If it helps you stay mobile and warms up your legs and gets you ready to squat, do them first. If you don’t need help warming up but want to add them as an athletic movement to work your quads, glutes and hams, put them at the end.
I am a big fan of super setting the box jumps with the first few warm up sets of my main movement. Especially since the box jump will potentiate your nervous system, they can really prime you up to move the weights faster. I have used dimmels as well, just as Pegg said, as the second movement of the day.
I have never done a Dimmel Deadlift and I’m not a big box jumper but, being you’re not a HUGE guy, you can probably get away with this.
The key is always “WHY?” If you have a good answer, then go ahead but always with caution.
