Has anyone had any experience utilizing the Jumbo method for training pre-contest? I’m a 46 year old AAPF and UPA-AD competitor that also works as a school counselor in Flint, Michigan with a total of a 2 hour commute each day. Thanks!!
I combine my squat/deadlift on one day it it works great. I work full time, two kids and a pretty busy person. It gives me sufficient time to recover and utilizes my time best as weekends are when I can devote myself to longer training sessions. I’ve had great success with this and learned it’s helped condition me for long meet days.
Its a great way to train, and my preferred method for pre contest. The key is to balance the intensity to get enough work from both movements.
I have coached a few people who have done the Big Combo day where all 3 of the main movements are on one day, with a secondary day, and an at home training day. This has had some success as well. It is simply finding a matter of balance.
