Starting With My Primer

I started this session with one of my favorite primers: side planks, curl-ups, glute bridges, clamshells, and some focused glute work. I’ll do this three or four times per week, and sometimes even daily depending on how I’m feeling.

From there, I moved into lateral monster walks, which are money for the glutes, adductors, and abductors. I followed those with lunges to keep opening up the hips and get everything ready for the rest of the session.

Getting Back Into Lower Body Training

I’ve been working lower body twice per week now, with a big focus on opening my hips back up and getting comfortable training my legs consistently again.

Big shout-out to Joe Camisa because he has helped me tremendously with my adductor. I’ll give a full update on that soon, but it is feeling significantly better and is basically healed at this point. Some dry needling, microcurrent work, and a slightly different rehab approach were what I needed to get the fascia moving again.

I really haven’t trained my legs much over the last couple of years, and they’re starting to look a little thin because of it. Now that the adductor is feeling better, I’m finally getting back to putting some real lower-body work in.

Squatting Again With the SquatMax-MD

A big part of that has been getting back on the SquatMax-MD. I’ve been squatting twice per week and using one of our medium-to-heavy bands to add some accommodating resistance.

On some days I’ll push sets closer to 20 reps, while this session was more in the five-to-ten-rep range. Right now, the goal is not to do anything crazy. I’m just building the legs back up, getting comfortable through the movement, and continuing to improve how my hips feel.

Upper Body and Lower-Leg Volume

I also hit some work on the chest press machine, where I like to just pump out a bunch of reps and get a lot of volume in. Some days I’ll get close to 100 total reps and just blow everything up without overcomplicating it.

From there, I worked in some calf raises and tib raises to round out the lower-leg work.

Finishing With Carries

I finished the session with suitcase carries. They’re simple, but they give me a lot of value for the trunk, grip, hips, and overall stability without needing to make the session more complicated than it needs to be.

Overall, this was another solid step toward getting my lower body back in the mix. The hips are moving better, the adductor is feeling good, and I’m finally training my legs again with some consistency.

Big shout-out again to Joe Camisa for all of his help. I’ll have a full update on the adductor coming soon.
