Team Samson Powerlifting – 11.5.17 & 11.7.17

This week saw nearly everyone in the gym. Brian was teaching at a seminar in Arizona, but Byrd was back. He’s still healing a torn hamstring but is training. He was also a great help on Saturday in helping me set up the Inzer Leviathan Ultra Pro. Paul Key was also on hand Monday and is always a huge help to anyone in a bench shirt.

Saturday’s squat session took place with the buffalo bar for most. Felipe used the SSB. Everyone is still in offseason mode and staying relatively light. I’m breaking in and learning new gear but still staying around a 7 RPE. We pulled from 2″ blocks after squats. Assistance work has been belt squats, 1 leg good mornings and kettle bell carries.

On Monday, everyone except Nick and I worked the football bar. Nick worked up to 500 for a raw single and I took 500 for a few doubles to a two board. We followed up with close grip presses, incline db press, and various tricep extensions.

It was a good week at Team Samson. Look for it to get more interesting soon as a few of us start meet prep in a couple weeks.
