14 Jul Team Samson Powerlifting- Leg Curls!?! Leg Curls!?! 7/2-7/8 Training.
[wa-wps]Adam Driggers is keeping his retirement casual by still out-lifting active lifters on occasion. Shane Ford is training to compete at the SoFit Expo here in Jacksonville Fl. Filipe Gusmao is going through an offseason cycle prior to competing again.
Adam Driggers-
Adam threw on some Inzer Predators this week and put in some REAL work… Not this Rawng (AKA Partially equipped, or “raw”) stuff. Whatever you call it, I get pretty excited when I see more people put gear on at the gym. Things tend to get a little crazy. This week Adam worked up to a really easy 755 squat in briefs and wraps.
Shane Ford-
At 6 weeks out, this is the meat of the training cycle. It’s also the portion where I generally feel like crap. I feel good this time around. I think it has something to do with the running start we got into this training cycle.
Squat
I’ve been having some unrack issues lately. Mainly me being a pussy. Took a heavy set of 735, which went great, I could have made it a litte easier on myself by attacking the unrack instead of babying it.
Bench
My bench has sucked for the entire time I’ve been with Team Samson. It seems like it’s coming along here this training cycle. While still meager, it is getting better. took 500 for 2 to a 2 board and big set of the day was 550 for 1 to a 2 board.
Deadlift
Got a singly ply brief in for squatting ad deadlifting this week. Didn’t have it in time for Saturday, but pulled in it on Wednesday. It’s something a little new, little more pressure (hopefully more weight on the bar too!), but not too much of a learning curve. went 585 and 675 for two, then took a bunch of singles at 405, to re learn how to get to the bar with more gear on.
