3 Things Your Strength Training Is Missing! RANT!

An Introduction to Next Weeks Video!

In this rant, I am going to introduce the topic for next week’s article and video: “Essential Elements You Might Be Missing in Your Strength Training Program.” During consultations, clients typically seek my expertise either to refine their lifts or to alleviate back pain—sometimes both. More often than not, they are missing three crucial components in their training regimen, which I will explore in detail in the upcoming video.

The three frequently overlooked elements in strength training programs are structured training phases, deloads, and customized assistance work. Next week’s video will delve into what these components entail, but in essence, they represent three critical yet commonly ignored aspects of an effective strength training program. As I discussed in “10/20/Life,” focusing on these principles is vital for anyone aiming to enhance their strength.

Do NOT Overlook These Things!

It is important to note that these are not merely absent from some training regimens; often, individuals believe they are incorporating these elements when, in reality, they are not. I encounter this misconception daily among those dealing with back pain or striving to advance their strength training.

These three elements are valuable not only for the novice lifter aiming to squat 225 lbs for the first time but also for elite athletes pursuing a 1,000+ lb squat. I have worked with a range of individuals—from elite powerlifters and strongman competitors to Highland Games athletes and recreational lifters—all of whom have overlooked these key principles in their pursuit of strength. Stay tuned for a comprehensive breakdown of these elements and guidance on how to incorporate them effectively to avoid plateaus and maintain a pain-free training experience.
